Travel and tourism is and will always be a service industry. the problem with big agencies is that they try minimize as much costs as possible in order to have as much margins as possible. Unlike local and small tour operators that basically aim to make their guests happy.

unfortunately libra holidays owes thousands of euros to the hotel owners in Greece for the tourist season 2007.Hoteliers were not paid as they were promised that they would get their money after the sale to Allbury travel. However, the new company says they are not liable for the debts of the company they bought.how could this be possible?Travellers have paid for their holidays.Where did this money go?
Secondly, just 28 days before the beggining of the new season 2008 all hoteliers reseved letters saying that the contracts which were signed between libra holidays and the hoteliers are not valid any more! However, there are many people who have booked to come to our accommodation for instance but they have not been informed or given their money back.Someone should look at them...

Hi Julie

Leger holidays are bluffing, tell them to take it up with ABTA claims on 01243 621 500.

Ignore the letter you have nothing to worry about

I have a different problem with Leisure Direction i booked a holiday and paid for it in November 2007 i went on holiday the day after LD went into administration. i now have Leger holidays threatening to refer me to a debt collection agency if i dont pay them again for the holiday. why is it my responsibility to repay Leger when i have already paid for the holiday surely that should be down to their insurance/bonding? have i got the wrong end of the stick and can anyone advise me?

Hi mags re Leisure direction

Your card company is taking the mickey, get them on the phone and threaten to take them to court...

This comes under various acts including the supply of goods, you do not need a letter the company has closed down.

If they want proof tell them to ring ABTA claims on 01243 621 500
