Jamaica advice – holiday cancellation not free

Jamaica advice: Tour operators – including Thomas Cook, Thomson and Kuoni – have confirmed that normal booking conditions apply, meaning concerned holidaymakers will not be able to cancel or re-arrange their Jamaica trips free of charge.

Kingston is over 120 miles away from the hotels where we operate, and the north coast remains calm with no disruptions,” said Thomson

The Foreign Office is advising against all non-essential travel in and around Kingston – particularly the areas of West Kingston and Mountain View – and warns of “sporadic outbreaks” of violence throughout the city, where a state of emergency as been declared.

“Travellers to the north coast of Jamaica – including Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio and Negril – are some four hours from the area of concern.”

  2. Interesting points Peter , but why not just legalise drugs, that way there is no risk factor in buying them which is part of the lure of drugs in the first place.

Take that away and they trade will collapse and Jamaica could go back to being the island paradise it is

  3. While the world continues with its idiotic, discredited policy of prohibition, the drugs trade will continue to bring death and misery to this island paradise.

Legalise, regulate, tax – that way you pull the rug from under organised crime and you have a chance to minimise the harm that drugs cause.
