Eurozone holidays make a comeback

The weakening Euro, has prompted a huge rise in interest for Eurozone holidays, to popular destinations such as Spain, Portugal and Greece.

Eurozone destinations were seen as becoming way too expensive, when the Euro was high, Eurozone holidays are now making a strong comeback, after loosing out heavily to destinations such as Egypt and Turkey.

Travel websites are reporting a 10% rise in Eurozone holiday searches for the month of May, compared with the same period in 2009.

“The recession of the past year had, last summer, seen travellers favouring non Eurozone, mid-haul destinations like Turkey where they were guaranteed cheaper ground costs as a result of conversion rates,”.

“However this year, with the Pound regaining some strength against the Euro, the Eurozone is back in favour, particularly for short breaks.”
